IDFA Pacts With Cinelan

IDFA, the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam, has pacted with New York-based production company Cinelan to present the new global documentary initiative Focus Forward. At the Toronto Film Festival, Cinelan announced that with the sponsorship support of General Electric that it is producing and curating a series of thirty three-minute non-fiction films about the incredible human power of ideas and invention. The initiative includes contributions from such leading documentarians as Morgan Spurlock, Steve James, Barbara Kopple, Ross Kauffman, Morgan Spurlock, Jessica Yu, Joe Berlinger, Lixin Fan, Lucy Walker, Eddie Schmidt, Phil Cox, Leslie Iwerks and Stanley Nelson. A press conference will be held on Saturday November 19 at IDFA, where Cinelan representatives, select partners and collaborating filmmakers including Steve James and Morgan Spurlock will discuss the project and their collaboration and announce new filmmakers and additional partners. The initiative will also have a presence at the upcoming Sundance and Tribeca Film Festivals.
