Eugene Jarecki Gives Doc Talk At Silverdocs

One of the documentary world’s leading lights, author/filmmaker Eugene Jarecki will give a special
“doc talk” at Silverdocs this week. A documentarian fascinated with institutions and the personalities who guide them, his many acclaimed films include such non-fiction landmarks as WHY WE FIGHT, THE TRIALS OF HENRY KISSINGER, REAGAN, FREAKONOMICS, QUEST OF THE CARIB CANOE, SEASON OF THE LIFTERBEES, and the Sundance hit THE HOUSE I LIVE IN, which looks at the failed war on drugs in America. The film won the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance (the same award as his 2005 film WHY WE FIGHT) and its striking message should definitely generate controversy as the government must justify spending untold billions on a failed attempt to contain a raging drug epidemic (and failing miserably).
