Rooftop Films Kicks Off Summer Open Air Season

Also kicking off today is Rooftop Cinema’s 16th Annual Summer Series presented by AT&T, featuring over 45 outdoor screenings with live music, spectacular venues and the best in new, independent, and foreign films. This year’s edition premieres tonight with some of the greatest new short films from all around the world, to be shown at the Open Road Rooftop at New Design High School in Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Tomorrow evening, the series presents a a special preview screening of THINK OF ME, a Sundance sleeper, starring Lauren Ambrose. In the weeks ahead, look for premiere screenings (all open air) of such films as Caveh Zahedi’s political documentary THE SHEIK AND I, actor-turned-director Matthew Lillard’s comic feature debut FAT KID RULES THE WORLD and Amy Seimetz’s dramatic thriller about a road trip gone bad, SUN DON’T SHINE.
