French Film Acquired For US At Berlin Market

THE OTHER SON (Le Fils de L’Autre), which screened in the 2012 EFM/Berlin market, has been acquired for U.S. distribution by the Cohen Media Group. Directed by Lorraine Levy, the film stars Emmanuelle Devos and Pascal Elbé, in the story of an Israeli teen who discovers that he is not the biological son of his parents and was switched at birth with the child of a Palestinian family on the West Bank. The lives of these two families are suddenly shattered by the revelation that forces them to reconsider their identities, values and beliefs. Raphael Berdugo, Managing Director of Paris based Cite Films, the film’s international sales agent, stated in a prepared statement that he is “delighted to begin collaboration with the Cohen Media Group team and especially with its guiding force, Charles Cohen. Mr. Cohen immediately appreciated the true quality of the script; in particular, its powerful human element. I am confident that THE OTHER SON is in the most competent hands for it to reach both a deserving and respectably large audience in the U.S.”
