Written by: FFT Webmaster | May 2nd, 2011

The documentary GIVE UP TOMORROW by Michael Collins, which was initially supported by the Tribeca Film Institute’s Gucci Tribeca Documentary Fund, has won the Heineken Audience Award at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival. Collins takes home a $25,000 cash prize for the film, which details the story of culinary student Paco Larrañaga, who was falsely accused and ultimately incarcerated for the kidnap, rape and murder of two sisters on the provincial island of Cebu in The Philippines. The film had its world premiere at the Festival, which concluded yesterday. Collins himself is an

alumnus of the Tribeca Film Institute’s Tribeca All Access program, which gives fledgling filmmakers networking access to industry professionals.
