Spend Labor Day With Buster Keaton

New York’s Film Forum is offering New Yorkers weary from the double hit of an earthquake and hurricane a welcome respite on Labor Day Monday. The venerable arthouse in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village is presenting a full day marathon of Buster Keaton classics, films that remain as funny and innovative as they were when first presented almost 90 years ago. All seven films (six features and one short) will be accompanied by Film Forum’s popular silent film pianist Steve Sterner. Film favorites include THE PLAYHOUSE (1921), OUR HOSPITALITY (1923), SHERLOCK JR. (1924), THE NAVIGATOR (1924), SEVEN CHANCES (1925), THE GENERAL (1926) and STEAMBOAT BILL, JR. (1928).
