Sony Pictures Classics is extending its long relationship with Spanish filmmaker Pedro Almodovar by acquiring all North American rights to his upcoming comedy I’M SO EXCITED. Written and directed by Almodóvar, it began production this month is set for release in summer 2013. The plot is being held as a closely guarded secret but the casting is not. The director reunites with favorites Penélope Cruz, Antonio Banderas and Paz Vega. The film also stars Javier Cámara, Cecilia Roth, Lola Dueñas, Raul Arévalo, Carlos Areces, and Antonio de la Torre. Expect a Cannes premiere next May.
