U.S. specialty distributor Sony Pictures Classics has acquired U.S. rights to Canadian director David Cronenberg’s A DANGEROUS METHOD, the master director’s new Freudian thriller. The film is a biopic of the impassioned and antagonistic relationship between Dr. Sigmund Freud (played by Viggo Mortenson) and Dr. Carl Jung (played by Michael Fassbender), whose professional and personal lives intertwine as they attempt to treat an unbalanced woman (played by Keira Knightley). , The film, produced by Jeremy Thomas, is certain to find a slot at either (or both) the Venice and Toronto film festivals in the fall, with an all-out awards campaign being prepared for later in the year.
