Written by: FFT Webmaster | July 8th, 2011

The San Francisco Film Society, which presents the San Francisco International Film Festival as well as year-round programs and educational events, has announced a historic alliance that will enable the Film Society to offer a full roster of its exhibition, education and filmmaker services programs and events all year round for the first time in the organization’s 54-year history. Beginning in September, San Francisco Film Society/ New People Cinema will open its doors in the ultra-contemporary New People building in the Japantown neighborhood of the city. Opened since 2009, the New People building is a modern architectural jewel devoted to contemporary Japanese art, fashion, food and design. The theater will feature state-of-the-art analog and digital equipment, perfect sight lines and immersive THX surround sound, giving the film-hungry San Francisco audience a go-to destination to appreciate the best of independent and international cinema all year round.
