Written by: FFT Webmaster | July 29th, 2011

Academy Award-winning filmmaker Ron Howard (A BEAUTIFUL MIND) has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Jacob Burns Film Center (JBFC), the non-profit film and education institution in Westchester County north of New York City. Howard is a local resident who has been involved with the Center since its beginnings a decade ago. In 2005, he was the recipient of the Center’s first Vision Award. JBFC not only provides a 365-day calendar of film screenings but also offers intensive educational and training programs for professionals and students aspiring to enter the industry. In addition to his role on the JBFC board, Howard and his wife Cheryl serve as co-chairs of the JBFC’s Tribute to Steven Spielberg, a fundraiser to be held on Saturday, September 17, with proceeds going to support the Center’s education and outreach programs.
