The 5th Annual Other Israel Film Festival, dedicated to showcasing the diversity of Israeli life with films about the country’s Arab citizens, continues this week with a full line-up of intriguing views of the “other Israel”. Screenings are being held at the Jewish Community Center on Manhattan’s Upper West Side and at the Cinema Village downtown. “The topic of Palestinians in Israel has never been more prominent on the world’s agenda”, Carole Zabar, co-founder and Executive Producer announced in a prepared statement. Festivities began last evening with the New York Premiere of DOLPHIN BOY, a celebrated film making waves on the international festival circuit, by Dani Menkin and Yonatan Nir. For those not able to come to the live screenings, the Festival has inaugurated www.OtherIsraelOnDemand.org, a streaming platform that will make films dealing with festival themes available for viewing to audiences across the country. The Festival continues to November 17. For more information on the screenings, panels and special events, visit: www.otherisrael.org
