Locarno Festival To Honor Producer Arnon Milchan

At the 65th edition of the Festival del film Locarno, to be held from August 1-11 in the beautiful resort town in southern Switzerland, the Premio Raimondo Rezzonico (Best Producer Award) will be presented to Arnon Milchan, one of the most prolific and successful American independent film producer of the past 25 years. Milchan, with over 100 feature films to his credit, has produced such classic films as Martin Scorsese’s THE KING OF COMEDY (1983), Sergio Leone’s ONCE UPON A TIME IN AMERICA (1984) and Terry Gilliam’s BRAZIL (1985) (all three of which will be screened at the Festival), along with such other impressive titles THE WAR OF THE ROSES (1989), PRETTY WOMAN (1990), JFK (1991), THE CLIENT (1994), L.A. CONFIDENTIAL (1997), FIGHT CLUB (1999), MAN ON FIRE (2004), MR. AND MRS. SMITH (2005), THE FOUNTAIN (2006) and the animated film FANTASTIC MR. FOX (2009) by Wes Anderson (director of this summer’s indie hit MOONRISE KINGDOM). Mr. Milchan will also give a master class on film producing at the event.
