Larry David, who plays a curmudgeonly version of himself in the hit HBO comedy series CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM, is writing a script for HBO Films, in which he will also star, but playing a different character from his hilarious television persona. Film and television director Greg Mottola (THE DAYTRIPPERS, ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT, THE NEWSROOM) will direct. David, one of the originators of the iconic SEINFELD series, has played characters other than himself before — most recently in Woody Allen’s 2009 film WHATEVER WORKS.
