Jennifer Hudson’s Gritty New Role

Written by: FFT Webmaster | July 15th, 2011

Oscar winning actress Jennifer Hudson (DREAMGIRLS) is taking a definite change of pace in a gritty new role in an indie drama set in New York. The newly svelte Hudson will play a drug-addicted mother whose arrest forces her son and his best friend to fend for themselves in the drama MISTER AND PETE. The film will be directed by George Tillman Jr. (FASTER) and co-produced by singer Alicia Keys. Production is set to begin in Brooklyn next month and the finished film may even be ready in time for the next Sundance Film Festival. Hudson will next be seen as a sassy nun in the Farrelly Brothers’ update of THE THREE STOOGES, which features an eclectic cast that includes Jane Lynch, Larry David, Sofia Vergara, Sean Hayes and Craig Bierko.
