First Weekend At The Sundance Film Festival

Written by: FFT Webmaster | January 20th, 2012

The Sundance Film Festival is well into the swing of its first weekend, with a number of first day and second day events in addition to the explosion of screenings, panels and parties. Day One Screenings on Thursday included multiple screenings from the competition film line-up, as well as the opening of the New Frontier multimedia artist exhibitions. The first day also hosted An Artist at the Table, a fundraiser and kick-off for the 2012 Sundance Film Festival and an intimate evening to celebrate independent artists and their work. This event includes cocktails with filmmakers, reserved seating at the Day One screening, dinner with artists, and a performance by Sundance Institute artists. At night, the Day One Party officially opened the Festival with its annual celebration at the Legacy Lodge where filmmakers and Festival friends reunite or meet for the first time. Friday evening sees the Salt Lake City Gala and Screening at the Rose Wagner Theater in Salt Lake City.
