Cinefondation, the non-profit filmmaker development agency which presented both completed short film works and future projects from a coterie of international filmmakers during last week’s Cannes Film Festival, has bestowed several awards for its lucky participants. Receiving the First Prize on behalf of the Cinéfondation and the Official Short Films Jury was the student film THE LETTER by fledgling German director Doroteya Droumeva. She will receive a cash prize of € 15,000. In addition, the Second Prize went to DRARI by French filmmaker Kamal Lazraq (cash prize of € 11,250), with the Third Prize given to FLY BY NIGHT, by South Korean filmmaker Son Tae-gyum (cash prize of € 7,500).  Sixteen student films competed out of a selection of over 1600 entries.
