Bela Tarr Retrospective At Lincoln Center

Written by: FFT Webmaster | December 16th, 2011

Celebrated Hungarian director Béla Tarr will honored with a complete retrospective at New York’s Film Society of Lincoln Center in February. Under the title “The Last Modernist: The Complete Works of Béla Tarr”, the six-day series will showcase this film auteur’s oeuvre, spanning his early cinema verité portraits of proletarian life in Communist-era Hungary to the surrealistic masterworks that have defined his films of the past 20 years. The retrospective will culminate with the U.S. theatrical debut of THE TURIN HORSE, his latest and possibly last film. The film, to be released by Cinema Guild, will screen at the Film Society’s Elinor Brunin Monroe Film Center for its New York theatrical run. The film was presented as a gala event at last October’s New York Film Festival. For more information, visit: www.filmlinc.com
