Hall Moves Up In Sarasota

Tom Hall, who has served as the Director of Programming and Artistic Director for the Sarasota Film Festival (SFF) since 2004 has been named Festival Director. Hall will take on an expanded role in the management and financial development of the Festival, and will continue to work on the Festival’s film and artistic programs. He is a veteran of the film festival scene, currently serving as Programmer at newportFILM in Newport, RI (2010-present). In the past, he has also served as Artistic Director for The Newport International Film Festival (2009), Programmer at The Nantucket Film Festival (2002-2005) as well as Director of New Media for Bravo/The Independent Film Channel (1997-2000). Hall has also worked in the Industry and Guest Services Offices at The Hamptons International Film Festival (2002-2003). Hel has directed short films for Bob Mould’s Carnival of Light and Sound Tour and recently re-launched his blog The Back Row Manifesto (www.backrowmanifesto.com). In addition, the SFF announced the appointment of Magida Diouri as Programmer and Veronica Pastore as Associate Director of Marketing for the 2012 Festival, which will take place April 13-22, 2012 in Sarasota, Florida.
