MEDIA ALERT

Invitation to the Special Press Conference on
“Twice Bombed: The Legacy of Yamaguchi Tsutomu”
World premier at The 4th Annual New York Peace Film Festival

We are delighted to invite you to a press conference Saturday March 12 at 6:30pm (prompt) immediately preceding the world premier of the new Japanese documentary “Twice bombed: The Legacy of Yamaguchi Tsutomu” completed in 2010 and directed by Hidetaka Inazuka.  The press conference will take place at All Souls Unitarian Church at Lexington Avenue and 80th Street in Manhattan in the first floor chapel, where the film will be screened at the conclusion of the press conference.  If you will be attending please contact Jonathan Fluck at jonathanfluck@yahoo.com.

Present at the press conference and the screening will be the director, Hidetaka Inazuka, who will speak to how this movie was made and his close relationship with the late Mr. Yamaguchi Tsutomu, one of the few survivors of both atomic-bombings, having been in  Hiroshima on August 6, 1945 and then in Nagasaki on August 9, 1945.  Mr. Inazuka finds it extremely important to premier the film abroad, especially in New York City, for it was Mr. Yamaguchi’s strong desire to make the appeal for nuclear disarmament directly to the international community.
Along with the above mentioned film, the New York Peace Film Festival features12 films dealing with 10 different countries.  All of the films have the theme of applying peaceful solutions to the world’s conflicts and asking how to move toward a  peaceful world.

We welcome as much media as possible to help us promote the legacy of Yamaguchi Tsutomu, who would say in his speeches world-wide: “one for all, all for one”.

Thank you very much.

Time/ Date: March 12, 2011  18:30~19:00 (The door opens at 18:15)
