Sundance Film Festival 2011 - ark City Utah, Jan 20 - 30

This year Brita has teamed up with The Sundance Institute and the Environmental Media Association (EMA) to host the FilterForGood Film Project- a film contest to invite people who are passionate about making the world a better place a chance to inspire a film and win a trip to the 2011 Sundance Film Festival to see the screening.

GiveLove co-founders Patricia Arquette and Rosetta Getty, along with Jacqui Getty, welcomed guests to a private LA residence for the 1st Annual GiveLove to Haiti Dinner.

The event's mission was to raise awareness for GiveLove -- a collaborative project to rebuild communities, homes and livelihoods for displaced Haitian earthquake survivors.

Doug Liman may have only a handful of films under his belt but his batting average is high with Swingers(1996) Go(1999) and the amazing Bourne identity pics.  This latest entry should be powerful as he explores the biggest American spy fuck-up of the past 50 years with the Valerie Plame story.

It played Cannes back in May and now it is poised to make some noise here in the States. Check out the trailer.

Even if you don't know his name, you probably know his imagery. The streetwise graffiti, the charismatic iconography, the madcap use of words and visuals from pop culture.....the coolness of the work and the indelible signature of a gifted, natural (as opposed to heavily trained) artist. And add one more romantic detail.....death at the tender age of 27 after a blazing career that now sees his doodlings capturing record prices on the art auction market. Like James Dean before him, he is forever enshrined as a young man of his age who never endured growing old.
