Precious Hits The Wall

Unless it finds a way to turn the history of such things, Precious hit its box office wall Thanksgiving weekend. Once a film starts losing box office in an under-1000 screen release, it rarely recovers in terms of weekend grosses, no matter how many screens are added. Precious has grossed a little over 30 million so far-good but not great!  In comparison,  Paranormal Activity(Slamdance 2008) has grossed over 107 million, a number that Precious will never see unless it gets Oscar recognition and a new wave of attention.
